How to arrive

Palazzo Minciotti is in Piazza San Rufino. The entrance is at Via S. Maria delle Rose, 2 (across from the cathedral).
By car
From Florence
Coming from Florence, exit the A1 (Autostrada del Sole) motorway at Valdichiana and then take the dual carriageway to Perugia, continuing to the exit for Assisi. Follow the signs for Santa Maria degli Angeli and then continue for 3 km / 1.8 miles to Assisi.

From Rome
Coming from Rome, exit the A1 (Autostrada del Sole) motorway at Orte. Take the dual carriageway towards Terni-Spoleto, and then follow the signs for Foligno, continuing to Assisi.

Assisi
Once you reach Assisi, drive to the upper end of town. You can drop off your luggage at the door and then park at the guarded paid car park in Piazza Matteotti, which is about 200 m / 650 ft. away.

By train link
If you take the train to Assisi, there is a bus stop in the square in front of the station. The bus goes to the centre of town. The bus terminates at Piazza Matteotti, which is very close to Piazza San Rufino and Palazzo Minciotti. There is also an efficient taxi service from the train station to Assisi. The rate is Euro 13.00, plus 0.50 (approximately) for each piece of luggage.
Airport link
If you come by plane, the only connection from Sant'Egidio Airport to Assisi is by taxi. The rate is approximately Euro 35. Car rentals are also available at the airport. Direct flights from the Sant'Egidio Airport are available to England with Ryan Air and flights are available to and from Milan-Malpensa Airport, which is an international hub serving countries around the world.
Transit and parking restrictions inside the city
On certain days, entry to the city may be banned. In this case, you can leave your car at the car park in Piazza Matteotti and walk to Palazzo Minciotti. It is just a five-minute walk downhill.
Cars are not allowed into the city on the afternoon of Good Friday and during Calendimaggio. On 15 August, 25 April, 1 May and 4 October (feast of St. Francis), there is heavy traffic and the parking areas will be full. In this case, go towards the Rocca Maggiore, where parking is almost always available.
